Repentance means to turn to God and to do God’s will
References to Repentance
Hello my dear friend, I’m Claudine McDaniel, the founder of Beyond Conquerors Ministry, and the author of the book titled 'More than Conquerors: from struggles to forgiveness from forgiveness to blessings'.
My vision is to bring love and hope to individuals who have been knocked down by life’s difficulties. I went through so much hardship in life, but by the Grace of God, I’m still standing and doing well. This is why it is my desire to share with women that have experienced challenges like me on how I was able to overcome my difficulties, and in this article, I am addressing 'repentance'.
Repentance means to turn to God and to do God’s will and when we decide to turn away from our sins and turn to God. It is the moment when we make up our minds to follow Jesus. Who needs to repent? We all need to repent, and this means that repentance applies to all - young and old, rich and poor, rich or poor, educated and uneducated. You might be young and might think that you don’t have a sinful life to turn from, but regardless of how old you are, you have sinned and the Bible says in Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (NIV). Here are some verses from the Holy Bible (New International Version) that discuss repentance.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. Acts 3:19
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Proverbs 28:13
For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him. 2 Chronicles 30:9
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Revelation 3:19
“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1:15
My brothers and sisters, God loves you so much. That is why He gave His one and only Son so that if you believe in Him you will not perish, but you will have eternal life (John 3:16). I encourage you to make the decision to repent and follow Jesus because He is the way and the Truth and the Life. If you invite him into your heart, He will come live in you and cover you with his mercy and Grace. This also means that He will be near you.
If you want to receive Christ, you are welcome to say this prayer: "Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior."
If you said the prayer above, Christ Jesus is now living in you. Talk to Him about anything that is going on in your life, see him turn your life around. He is now:
your provider
your savior.
your miracle worker.
your way maker.
your comforter.
your peace giver
your joy
your hope
Unlike humans, He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will help you to become all that He has created you to be. Spend some time with him on a regular basis, and you will see that there is no substitute for spending time with Him. Spending time with God is priceless, it is worth it. In Him, you will find everything you are looking for in life.
Also, if you prayed the prayer above, please let us know here. We would love to hear from you and support you in prayer as a new believer in Jesus Christ.
God thank you so much for your unconditional love. You show us just how much you love us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Thank you so much for the gift of eternal life that you are giving us through your Son Christ Jesus our Lord.
We have two programs, one in the United States and the other one is in Africa. In the United States, we assist women in need by supporting them to obtain the resources they need to be successful. In Africa, we are fighting against poverty, prostitution and abuse, by creating jobs to support women.
For a donation of any amount we will send you a copy of my book called More than Conquerors: From Struggles to Forgiveness, from Forgiveness to Blessings! Or feel free to order my book for your Kindle device or app from Amazon.
