Needing a Hand Up and Not a Hand Out

The mission of Beyond Conquerors Ministry, INC is to bring love and hope to individuals who have been knocked down by life's difficulties by motivating them to get back up again and chase after their dreams. To that end, Beyond Conquers Ministry has teamed up with New Endeavors by Women (NEW).

Washington D.C. based NEW is guided by a mission to partner with homeless women to create new futures and provide a nurturing environment so that women can recognize their worth. Like Beyond Conquerors Ministry, INC, NEW exists to transform lives.

Transforming Lives

While it is true that everybody hurts, often, women face unique challenges when dealing with grief, and those challenges can block their abilities to get back on their feet. Women often face forces, both external and internal, that compromise their abilities to pull “themselves up by their bootstraps”. By supporting NEW, Beyond Conquerors Ministry, INC is helping NEW to transform lives by providing housing, fostering the development of life skills, and promoting education and employment to end the cycle of homelessness.

According to the National Network to End Domestic Violence (https://nnedv.org, 2017), domestic violence is the leading cause of homelessness for women and children; over 90% of homeless women have experienced severe physical or sexual violence at some point in their lives; and 63% have been victims of intimate partner violence as adults.

Over 80% of survivors entering shelters identified "finding housing I can afford" as a need second only to "safety for myself."

Self-sufficiency and Independence Can Be Achieved

Since opening in 1988, NEW’s programs and services have helped 3,500 women and children take steps toward achieving greater self-sufficiency and independence. Beyond Conquerors Ministry and NEW are guided by similar missions which are partnering with homeless women to create new futures. NEW’s state objective is to “provide a nurturing environment so that women can recognize their worth” and they do this by “transforming lives, by providing housing, fostering the development of life skills, and promoting education and employment, to end the cycle of homelessness”, and Beyond Conquerors Ministry is helping by sponsoring a Grief Recovery Education Webinar to help women get passed the hurt that might be keeping them down.

Beyond Conquerors Ministry’s Success Institutes We encourage all women in transitional housing situations to sign up for all of Beyond Conquerors Ministry’s Success Institute courses. The courses are free of charge. All courses are provided through digital content and virtual sessions, and all courses are designed to assist students in reaching their Divine destinies. BCM’s Success Institute provides practical education to provide skills and tools needed to overcome life’s difficulties. In this life, we will have trials and tribulations, but the key is, with our steadfast faith in the Word, we become beyond conquerors over the hardships that come our way.
