We have all Lost Something.

Over the past two years, everyone- rich or poor, young or old, man or woman, person of color or a person who is not of color experienced some kind of loss. In extreme cases, it was the death of a cherished loved one. In other cases, some relationships were lost because they could not survive the conditions created by being lockdowned in close quarters. Some small businesses were lost because their customers were on lockdown. With businesses shuttered, a great deal of employees lost their jobs. Some schools were shuttered resulting in students suffering learning losses. Everyone lost the ability to do as they pleased. But now is a time to recover; a time to recover from our collective grief. It is morning and it is time for rejoicing! However, for some, grief recovery isn’t as easy as declaring it is daybreak.

Beyond Conquerors Ministry’s Success Institutes offers an 8 session Grief Recovery class. The class is offered through Zoom, and it will allow students to work with a certified Grief Recovery Specialist. The program is evidenced based, and it is free of charge.

Grief is usually the result of a loss, and loss comes in many forms. In fact, researchers have identified over 40 different types of loss. Loss of loved ones, the impact of a divorce, the emotional, physical, and spiritual scars of abuse, moving to a different location, chronic illnesses, and the loss of a pet are some of the identified types of loss and all can cause people to experience debilitating grief. Even if you are not currently recovering from a loss, this course is an excellent resource that will allow you to comfort those who are hurting.
